ADVISORY: If you choose a NON PABP approved
shopping cart platform you may have your
merchant account disabled and you may no longer
be able to obtain a merchant account starting
sometime in 2008! Why take the risk? Even just
"PCI Compliance" by itself is not sufficient
anymore! Choose IDO to design, a safe and proven

IDO promotes product feeds. When you upload your bulk inventory into your
RMS site, the inventory file you have can be uploaded in several different
Shopping Search Engines too!
What is a Product Feed:
Once our clients have their online web store up and running, they can have
access to their bulk inventory spreadsheets. This is called a product feed.
A product feed provides a file that allows you to see the products that are
listed in your site and provides information about the products. Companies
use product feeds to give out information about products to online search
engines, product comparison websites, or other similar services used by
businesses. To make sure that your websites are updated, you have to send
out product feeds consistently. This is to ensure that all your product
information including the pricing, promotions and other related information
is correct at all times. Product feeds can be uploaded into google's froogle
account, ShopZilla, Shopper.com as well as many others.
Please note: If you have a Yahoo! Store,
Merchant Solutions, or ProStores account, you do not need to create a
product feed. There is something called Product Submit already in it that
will automatically extract your product details directly from your store.
List of current "Product Feed Submission Sites":
BizRate allows you to search for products from
hundreds of online vendors. Features include merchant ratings,
reviews, tax and shipping information, as well as a list of your own
most searches and recently viewed products.
Dealtime is a domain search engine. It
uses both Shopping.com (an eBay-owned shopping comparison
network) and DealTime.co.uk as an additional online sales channel.
Froogle is a new search engine that Google.com
is currently developing and has recently launched. Froogle will find
the products that are put in the search engine or something very
similar to it.
Major comparison shopping search engine for the
United Kingdom and other European countries. According to the
company, 16 out of the top 20 RMS sites in the UK are
currently advertising through Kelkoo. Advertisers have the
opportunity to reach customers in all nine European countries in
which Kelkoo operates.
MSN Shopping, offers
Buyer's Guides with tips and tools, editor suggestions, and other
features beyond the price comparisons offered by other shopping
search sites.
One of the oldest comparison shopping sites on the
web. It features the ability to search for products from thousands of
merchants or browse by product category.
Comparison shopping
search engine with "TruePrices" feature
that shows prices including tax and
shipping charges, as well as user
ratings.
Comparison shopping
search engine with ability to see member
ratings of products and it allows you to
write a review about the products. Available in
English or Spanish, including
specialized product searches for
retailers in Mexico and Brazil.
Yahoo Shopping connects you with thousands of
merchants -- traditional retail stores, name-brand catalog
companies, small boutiques, and specialty vendors. Listings come
from merchants hosted in
Yahoo
Store and through partnerships with others, in addition to
online merchants throughout the web. It also provides access to
product views.
Buyer's Index lists information from thousands
of mail order companies, web shopping sites, classified ad sites and
other venues. Shows links to merchant ratings from BizRate.
Shopping search engine that pulls back likely
product pages from across the web, rather than relying on merchant
feeds. It sends your query out to one of four major search engines
(Google, AllTheWeb, Inktomi or Teoma) but then should only list
pages where you can actually buy a product you are interested in.
Product reviews, magazine articles, discussions and opinions are
filtered out. The site was launched in September 2002.
Collects customer satisfaction reports from
shoppers that purchase from online merchants. You can also
compare shopping prices with rated merchants using this service.
Compare shopping prices in different categories such as
books, electronics and sporting goods. Promotes itself as "unbiased"
because it does not accept money from vendors to be listed, which is
usual in the shopping search engine space.
Comparison shop for books across 40 online book
stores from one place.
Catalog City allows you to order free mail, catalogs or shop online.
Search through listings from thousands of mail
order catalogs that have been digitized by Google.
Find special offers, freebies and free trials
that are available online.
